About 30 minutes / day
Short, frequent, supervised sessions on chest or a firm floor. Soft target β stop if baby is tired or distressed.
Educational estimate only. Not a diagnosis or care plan.
Supervised tummy time builds neck and shoulder strength for rolling and crawling. Chest (skin-to-skin) and floor sessions both count.
Always stay with your baby. Never leave a baby unattended on their tummy, and stop if they become distressed.
Frequently asked questions
- How much tummy time does my baby need?
- Start with a few minutes a few times a day. Goals ramp toward about 15, then 30, then 60 minutes total across the day as babies grow.
- Chest or floor?
- Both count. Chest (skin-to-skin) is great early on; firm floor play builds more strength as babies grow.
- Is tummy time safe?
- Only when awake and supervised. Never leave a baby unattended on their tummy.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Sign in to save the age goal note or track live sessions in the app.
- When can we stop focusing on tummy time?
- Once babies crawl well, dedicated tummy goals matter less. Unlocking the Crawling first in the app hides the Home goal.
